Northamptonshire Events
Fun, frolic and festivities flow all around the year as memorable Northamptonshire events take place through the calendar one after the other. There is hardly a month or even a week that goes by without this beautiful county in central England hosting a major event.
Whether it is the thrilling Northampton Balloon Festival or the famous Crick Boat Show, each of these events has scores of visitors flocking to the venues every year.
Northamptonshire Events – The Gala Time
Northamptonshire rejoices with a colorful and festive month of December as the Christmas Fayre gets underway every year. The celebrations are soon followed by a more solemn occasion of the Tolkein Day in the month of January. Meanwhile, sports lovers can look forward to the immensely exciting Burghley Horse Trials and the annual British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
Though events can be found almost throughout the year, it is the months of July and August that witness the most events, thereby attracting the maximum number of tourists and of course local residents. Some of the events gracing the month of July include The Castle Ashby Country Fair, Corby Cultural Day and Spratton Folk Festival. The month of July also sees unique events like the Proms in the Park and Walk in the Park, along with the famous Northampton Carnival Weekend.
On the other hand, August has popular Northamptonshire events such as the Holdenby Food Show, the Countryside Day and the extremely interesting Transport Gala. Kite-lovers can look forward to the annual Kites Day at Rockingham Castle, while music lovers have something to look forward to at the Opera for Autumn Evening, both held in September.
One of the most unusual events in Northamptonshire is the World Conker Championships in October, which is a major crowd-puller. Those with an intellectual bent of mind will surely enjoy the Althorp Literary Festival, held in June, while the sporty ones will find the British Superbike Championship held in September truly enjoyable.
Adding on to all of these, there is some really musical time awaiting the tourists at Hot Air Balloons and Jazz, held in the month of June. Though having only a few events, the month of March also hosts memorable events like the Cartoons and the Victorian Easter.
